Mom-Founded Brand Spotlight: Grove Baby Co.

With the pregnancy and motherhood industry currently booming, it can be a very exciting adventure and challenge for moms to look for areas of improvement and make functional and beautiful products for babies and their mothers. We had the opportunity to interview two women who recognized this potential in products and decided to create their own companies based out of Charlotte, NC. This is part two of our two-part mini series on mom founded brands and we’re thrilled to introduce Grove Baby Co.!

Holly resides in a suburb of Charlotte, NC and founded Grove Baby Co., a line of baby bibs that don’t sacrifice fashion for function. They can be purchased at Grove Baby Co. or you can follow their Facebook page.

What inspired you to found Grove Baby Co.?

I started learning to sew around the age of 10 by my mother. I started with just making pillows since they were a basic pattern. Then I drifted away from sewing for years until last year. I started my other business of pillow covers when I saw other similar businesses profit from making the same thing and at the time I was looking for a way to make money where I could work from home because I just had my first child. Fast forward to almost a year later, I came across a business page on Instagram that made baby bibs too and they were so beautiful and trendy looking (not like you average bib) that they inspired me to make them as well.

How long have you been making your products?

Grove Baby started several months ago in Summer 2019.

How do you hope your products will help other moms (and babies)?

I did a little bit of research and found there were not a lot of companies that make cute and fashionable bibs like I had wanted to do. I like the idea of my bibs being cute and stylish while still holding their purpose because we live in a social media-driven world these days and most moms on there are looking for their next trendy Instagram/Facebook worthy picture. But aside from that those who really do benefit from having a bib on at all times can still look cute without it taking about from their outfits and clashing. My bibs are meant to blend in and accessorize a baby’s outfit. Currently, my favorite bib comes from the fall collection that I just released. It has flowers with fall tones on it and is trimmed with a bogey lace fringe.

And finally, tell us a bit about yourself and your family! How many kids do you have, etc!

A little bit about myself: I have a vintage and bohemian style and incorporate that into everything, from my home to my clothes to my children’s clothing. I enjoy going thrift shopping, sewing, and working on my small businesses apart from spending time with my hubby and children. I married my sweetheart last February and we have a 17-month-old girl named Piper and a 2-month-old boy named Theo. Both have a bib named after them!
