Who's That Group: She Geeks Out
She Geeks Out is no stranger to us at JUGS, and excitingly they will be one of the three groups joining us next month at our GalBoss Holiday Mixer on December 6. You can check out our interview with one of their co-founders here.
What They Do
She Geeks Out is a community of women in tech, headed by Felicia Jadczak and Rachel Murray, that come together for networking events in Boston and Cambridge. Their events are held at various sponsor locations to provide a space for professional women to gather to eat, drink, and learn from each other. She Geeks Out supports and encourages all self-identifying women.
Their Events
Each event is usually structured to allow networking, eating and drinking at the beginning and end with about an hour of content provided by various speakers on a given topic sandwiched into the middle. Events also included raffle prizes with proceeds going towards local organizations that focus on girls in STEM.
Some of their upcoming events:
- Looking for 10 women to mentor for the afternoon
- Bring a dish that represents your culture
- Interact with Science Club for Girls girls, staff and volunteers
- Learn more about different careers in STEM
